Health is a Right.
Not a Privilege.
The Community Welfare Foundation is a Tanzania-registered NGO working at the grassroots — bringing free healthcare, education support, and environmental opportunity to Mswakini Village and the Maasai communities of Monduli District. We believe that geography should never determine destiny.
“For the first time in Monduli’s history, every villager had somewhere to turn.”
Small numbers. Enormous stakes.
Every number is a life that would otherwise have gone undetected. In Mswakini, where the nearest referral hospital is hours away and health literacy is limited, early identification is the difference between treatment and tragedy.
CWF exists to close the healthcare gap facing remote Maasai and rural communities in Tanzania. We begin in Mswakini — a predominantly Maasai village of 2,400+ people in Monduli District — and expand outward, carrying the same model to neighbouring villages and beyond.
We combine rigorous medical screening, long-term patient monitoring, education support, and environmental conservation into an integrated community development programme — because health does not exist in isolation.
Where Health, Education & Sustainability Come Together
Healthcare &
Screening
Free health camps, disease monitoring, and ongoing patient support for HIV/AIDS, cervical cancer, cardiovascular disease, and hypertension.
Education
Support
School uniforms for Mswakini’s most vulnerable students, health education programmes, and a planned school health camp for June 2026.
Environmental Conservation
Api-tourism and beekeeping integration at TAWIRI Njiro Forest — building a model that Mswakini village can replicate for income and conservation.
Research &
Evidence
Partnering with TAWIRI, UDSM, and international scholars to generate rigorous evidence that informs policy and scales impact.
From a small hive to a bigger mission
CWF grew out of a beekeeping project at Mswakini Primary School in 2020 — a small initiative by Mahfuj Munshi and The Singing Grass Collective that revealed something larger: the community’s need extended far beyond what any single project could address. Friends, work partners, and researchers began asking how they could contribute. The Foundation was the answer.
